Children In Need!

On Thursday the 17th of November, was the Children In Need Rocks concert in Manchester. This was where a huge amount of people gathered together to watch the amazing show.

The event was organised by Gary Barlow, which he called "Gary Barlow's extravaganza"! And for those who didn't go to the live show probably watched it on TV or by radio as the event was live on BBC One and Radio 1. Throughout the night saw some great celebrities/stars on stage, a long with Chris Moyles and David Tennant who presented the concert.

First on stage was Lady Gaga, and she opened the show with her hit "Born This Way." The show went along and saw more fabulous stars like Dappy from N-Dubz, Tulisa (a judge from X-Factor) and her group 'The Collective' sung the Children In Need song "Teardrop". Also, the show saw some great duets as Jessie J and James Morrison joined together to sing.

Another X-Factor judge that was seen was Kelly Rowland who sparkled on stage. Also the superstars JLS set pulses racing with their hits "Take A Chance" and "She Makes Me Wanna." Gary Barlow was suppose to sing a duet with Cheryl Cole but she pulled out because she was ill. However Gary didn't go without wowing the audience as he got the crowd to duet with him instead. He sung "I Want You Back."

One of the biggest bands around, Coldplay were last up and Chris Martin started to sing a Take That song as a joke, but the show ended on a massive high and the Children In Need fundraising coninued!

I like your Styles, Caroline!

Harry Styles is allegedly dating Xtra Factor host, Caroline Flack, 32.

After receiving death threats from One Direction fans, Flack tweeted: "Hi One Direction fans! To clarify. I'm close friends with Harry... he's one of the nicest people I know. I don't deserve death threats."

Suspicions arose after the pair were seen eating a 'cosy' dinner together in a 'posh London hotel'.

Although he may not be able to drink legally yet, she's certainly pulled a pint-sized popstar!

Ashton Kutcher is ON the market!

Listen up, ladies! It's official: your dreams have come true because Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore are filing for divorce!

Water Found on Europa

Scientists have been trying to find life on other planets in our solar system for decades. Water is essential for any kind of life form to survive. Without water, there is no life. So scientists have been trying to find this liquid on different planets around Earth.

Recently, strong evidence has been found that underneath the frozen crust, of one of Jupiters moons, lies water. As Europas surface is all ice, there must be water on it. Scientists say that below the ice shelf is water that is melting the ice on the outside. This means that there could be life on Europa. There could be an ocean, 100 miles deep, under Europas icy crust. That is what scientists have been thinking for a long time.

Here are some facts about Europa:
  • This moon was discovered by an Italian, called Galileo Galilei in January 1610
  • Europa is over 350 million miles away from Earth! It must be really cold there as this icy moon is a long way away from our biggest star, the Sun
  • Europas core is small and consists of metal, surrounded by a layer of rock
  • This moons outer layer is a thick sheet of ice

So, could this mean the beggining of finding other life forms on planets in our solar system? If scientists do find anything then will 'they' be GOOD or EVIL?

Guns & Knives Take Lives

ARMED RESPONCE POLICE UNIT team members came into Dinnington Comprehensive School to show the consequences of gun and knife crime. They showed what the law is on guns and knives and the fact that even carrying a BB gun outside your home is illegal and you could even get 4 years in prison. Or if you point the gun at them they will open fire, they will not know whether the gun you have is real or not and neither will the person who calls 999.

They shared with us lots of stories involving people who have been involved with gun & knife crime and/or have been a victim of it. Including: Claire's story and Karl's story. Claire's includes her with her friends at a night club with a knife for protection, Karl's includes him being a bit strupid with a BB gun and getting shot by the police.

Chile Fossil Discovery

For many years scientists have been digging up fossils of ancient animals, like the dinosaurs.
In Chile, palientologists have unearthed a large haul of ancient whale fossils, with all the bones still in their place. These fossils date back to over 7 million years ago.

A researcher said that they have found over 15 intact whale fossils in 15 days; thats higher than they expected. A lot of seal, shark and dolphin bones were also found. This discovery will help scientists find out about how these sea creatures lived at that time and how they were adapted to their environment.

South Yorkshire sports awards

Around about 7 months ago, my old Gymnastics partner and I, were nominated for junior team of the year. We were nominated by our Gymnastic coaches. You may of heard that the ice hockey team named: Sheffield Steelers who won in 2009 (the year before me and my partner). That is infact true!

Maybe if you do a sport you could get nominated or you can even nominate your coach, for best coach awards. There are plenty more awards too.

Lots of people are nominated and the top 3 from each category get to go to a special evening to see who is the winner overall!

so... guess what... WE WON!

Star Wars: Episode 1 - The Phantom Menace 3D' Trailer

I can not wait for this, I love Star Wars and to see it on the big screen in 3D is going to be mind blowing.

Toy Story

Toy Story space explorer gets replaced by a pin-sized invader in the Pixar short Small Fry, released on the 23th November with The Muppets. It forces on the Buzz Lightyear (voiced by Tim Allen) helping unloved fast-food toys. It looks better then it sounds.

Godzilla!!!!

Godzilla is back!! Hopefully in a better state then in the 1998 film. Most people including me want to see Godzilla in Japan shooting lasers; not in New York. Gareth Edwards is going to be directing it and Max Borenstein is going to write it; hopefully they will listen to what we want. Summer 2012 is the release date of the film and what a summer it will be; Godzilla, Batman and Spiderman!

Great Expectation's Pip

This is Jeremy Irvine as Pip in Mike Newell's adaptation of Charles Dickens' Great Expectations. Jeremy Irvine isn't exactly famous yet, but as the lead in War Horse it could happen. I can’t wait to see this film; I loved the 1946 version and I’m looking forward see how they will do it. There has been no news on when it will come out yet.

Where's Wally?

Wally is known for Martin Handford’s book series, which features huge crowd scenes and you have to find him. Despicable Me creators Illumination Entertainment did have the rights to the books but now MGM has found Wally’s rights. MGM wants Wally to star in a live-action adventure for family audiences. I love the books, they're are great fun! I think as a film it could work but it will be hard to pull it off.
