On Saturday 21st April a very talented young girl went on to Brittan's got talent with a dream to be famous and go on a shopping trip. She  sang and also played the guitar and everyone was astounded on how good she was especially Simon Cowell who was so gob smacked he was speech less. Everyone loved her and wants her to go through to the final and win so that  she can have that dream i hope that she dose too i thought that she was spectacular.

New 5p and 10p cause skin problems!

Worries are spreading that brand new 5p and 10p coins could cause skin problems.

The new coins contain more of a metal called nickel and less copper, than the present coins.

Skin experts - called dermatologists - say this could cause problems for people with nickel allergies, including some people with eczema.

But people from the Royal Mint, who make the coins, say the change will not have any bad effects.

Pair bailed following suspected drugs death of York teenager

It is thought Ms Rodgers took a "yellow/ white paste" which could have contained amphetamine

Two people have been bailed over the death of a 16-year-old girl in York.

A 26-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of supplying a controlled drug.

The girl, Poppy Rodgers, died at York District Hospital after being found seriously ill at a house on Tang Hall Lane on Thursday night.

She and a 21-year-old man are thought to have taken a "a yellow/white paste" which could have contained amphetamine. The man was also taken to hospital.

He is no longer in a critical condition.

North Yorkshire Police said a "detailed investigation" had been launched into the girl's death, but toxicology results and tests on the substance would take two weeks.

"People are strongly urged not to risk taking substances matching this description or of a similar nature," police said.

"Anyone with drug-related health concerns should seek medical assistance without delay."

'Most expensive toy in Britain' sold for £76,000

A 107-year-old toy battleship, with its own steam engine inside, has been sold for £76,000, making it probably the most expensive toy in Britain.

The model of HMS Terrible is from the lifetime collection of Ron McCrindell, who used to have his own TV show.

Every single toy in the collection - around 500 - was sold in Friday's auction.

With total sales of £284,552, it was a rare "white glove sale" which means every item was sold.

In his TV show 40 years ago, Mr McCrindell sailed the battleship on Hampstead Ponds in north London.

He died in August 2011 aged 91.

The model of HMS Terrible was made in Germany in 1905.

'Foolish' man rescues dog by crawling over frozen river 

A man wearing just his pants has crawled across a frozen river to rescue his trapped dog, but has been told off by firefighters.

The man apparently fell into the River Stour in Essex but managed to climb out with the dog.

The incident has been described as a "foolish act of bravery" and an Essex Fire Service spokesman said it was "extremely dangerous".

Another dog-walker said: "We couldn't believe what we were seeing."

"He stripped down to his pants and started crawling across the ice," he added. "He fell in but managed to get hold of the dog and put it on the ice."

Don't try this at home: the man attempts to crawl across the ice. No one's told us why he was only wearing pants.

Daft doggie daredevil danger?

A spokesman from Essex Fire Service warned people against trying to walk or crawl on ice.

"Even though this ice appears to be strong it can be eggshell thin and anyone who falls through into the water below could get trapped under the ice and would only be able to survive for minutes in the freezing water," he said.

"It isn't worth the risk. Dogs will normally make it safely off the ice and back to the shore - the same cannot be said for people."

Dwain Chambers is likely to compete at Games

Former drugs cheat Dwain Chambers is likely to be free to compete for Team GB in London this summer.

The sprinter tested positive for a banned substance in 2003, and was banned from ever running for Team GB in an Olympics again.
Britain is the only country in the world that still enforces a lifetime ban for drugs cheats.
But that ruling looks set to be overruled by the court of arbitration for sport next week.

The British Olympic Association made the decision to ban drug cheats for life in 1992.

But the World Anti-Doping Agency doesn't think that that is fair if the athlete has already served a suspension for the offence.

There has since been a legal battle between the BOA and WADA over who is right at the court of arbitration for sport.

Cyclist David Millar was also banned by the BOA, but has since raced for Britain in the World Championships

And although nothing official has been announced, the BOA have reportedly accepted in private that they will lose the case.

The potential ruling will mean Chambers and cyclist David Millar, who was banned in 2004, would both be available for selection for Team GB.

Car gets stuck in side of house.

Normally it's only in Hollywood blockbusters that we see cars flying through the air but not anymore.

An out-of-control car flew over small stream in Sao Paulo, Brazil and got stuck in the side of a house.

What makes this even more incredible is that the driver of the car only suffered minor injuries in the crash.

Police are still investigating the accident but believe the car had been speeding.

Doctor Who gets a new companion, Jenna-Louise Coleman

Actress Jenna-Louise Coleman has landed the role of the Time Lord's new companion in Doctor Who.

Producer Steven Moffat announced that the actress will replace Karen Gillan's character Amy Pond when she leaves the show in the next series.

Jenna-Louise has been in Waterloo Road and Emmerdale and will appear in the Doctor Who Christmas special.

She said she's a "huge fan" and is "beyond excited" to be taking over from Karen Gillan.

Levon Helm Dead at 71

The Band singer/drummer Levon Helm -- famous for hits like "The Weight" ("Take a load off Annie" ...) -- has died after a long battle with throat cancer.

Helm -- diagnosed with throat cancer in the late 90s -- passed away this afternoon in NYC, surrounded by his friends and bandmates.

Justin Bieber is snatching up hot wheels like most people buy Starbucks -- 'cause he just added a sick limited edition Ducati motorcycle to his ever-expanding fleet of vehicles.

According to sources, 18-year-old Bieber dropped $20,000 on a Ducati Superbike 848 EVO ... which was delivered to him Thursday.

We're told Biebs picked out the arctic white silk model at an LA dealership a couple days ago ... on recommendation from Usher, who has the black model.

Fire

In the United States a huge fire has broken out  at an oil company and when one of the fire trucks was trying to put out the fire it caught on fire. This happened in Springfield Ohio. The fire had quickly spread to a wear house. Fortunately no was injured in this horrific incident. The fire had spread into three interconnected buildings. Well the government are planning to change the way cigarette packets look to stop people smoking near children. 100 days till London Olympics.

Loads of stuff is happening to mark 100 days to the Olympics

In just 100 days time the London Olympic Games will officially begin. "Inspire a Generation" is the new motto for the Olympics 2012, also events are being held to mark the countdown to the opening ceremony.

21,000 media people, 10,500 athletes and  8.8 million ticket-holders will be arriving in the capital for the biggest sporting event on the planet. There is still a lot to be done so don't get too excited. In Horse Guards Parade, home of the beach volleyball, 3,000 tonnes of sand need to be dumped and 15,000 temporary seats put up. A further 200,000 temporary seats and 10,000 portable toilets need to be installed around the city. There is some interesting building work is also taking place in Greenwich Park, where the equestrian events will be taking place. For those who like football and the paralympics there are still around 1.5 million remaining football tickets and 1 million Paralympics tickets to be sold too. Although there are lots of people who are really looking forward to the Olympics coming to Great Britain, a BBC survey revealed that 64% of people think that it has already cost too much money.

Sharon Osbourne claims: Simon Cowell was seeing 3 women at once!

Sharon Osbourne has suspected that ex-colleague Simon Cowell was romantically involved with 2 other women while he was with former love Mezhgan Hussainy.

A new book on Simon, claims he had a secret romance with Dannii Minogue, but Sharon suspects that there's a lot more to his life that people may know. She says that he also hooked up with glamour model Jasmine Lennard and make-up artist Julia Carta.

'It'll be interesting whether the books mentions he was seeing Mezhgan, Jasmine and Julia at the same time,' says Sharon.

The former X Factor judge wasn't suprised when news of Simon's supposed fling with Dannii, came to light this week. We all knew Simon and Dannii were seeing each other,' says Sharon.

'It wasn't a secret. I don't know why he tried to hide it from everyone though.'

School Boy Gets An Exciting Letter.

A five-year-old boy was amazed to receive a letter from Michael Gove, the Education Secretary, after a note he launched tied to a helium balloon landed outside the MP’s office.

Eddie Nicholls released his message from Halstow Primary School in Greenwich, south east London, last month telling the recipient about his interests and hobbies. But to his astonishment, he received a reply from Mr Gove yesterday saying it was a “delight to receive post in such an unusual way”. The Tory MP for Surrey Heath also revealed that, like Eddie, he is a Star Wars fan, and that his children recently watched the animated comedy film Despicable Me. In his reply, dated March 30, Mr Gove, who has a son and a daughter, wrote: “Thank you for your letter, which landed right outside my office, the Department for Education, here in Westminster today. “The balloon must have floated all the way here past the London Eye, over Parliament, and maybe by the Tower of London".

This film I reviewed is about a pet blue feathered macaw Blue that needs to breed with the last ever blue feathered Macaw, Jewels but Jewels it located in Brazil. Just days before carnival bird snatchers are after two blue macaws. It turns out into a wild chase to remove a chain that keeps them together and all in all they turn out to live feely in the wild with the rest of their new family...

I would highly recommend it. I would give it a 5 stars  *****  it's a true heart warming avendure!!

Thornberry Animal Sanctuary!

Thornberry Animal Sanctuary is a caring charity for animals, from horses to birds. They save loads of animals and some may of died if it wasn't for them. Some of the dogs who stay there have been rescued from the streets. Providing food and care for all the animals at the sanctuary costs a lot of money, most of this money comes from the public. Thornberry also needs volunteers to exercise the dogs and take care of the other animals there.
