Transport Fares Are Rising AGAIN!

Self generated

Currently bus fares in the UK are 60p. Now I know that this a lot for some people living in the UK, and most of us can barely keep up with the constant change in prices of transport. I can imagine that parents of children that need to catch the bus to school and back every week day are pretty annoyed by the price of bus fares at 60p.
Well this anger is by sure going to change to rage as yet again the fares for transport in the UK are rising AGAIN! It didn’t seem 2 minutes ago that the fares went from 50p to 60p and now they are going up again! It’s currently 60p a way nowadays but starting on Monday the 1st of April 2013 fares will be going up to 70p! A 10p increase! Now when you come to think of it, fares at 60p now, if you catch a bus somewhere and back all week for 5 days then it will cost you £6 a week, however when the fares rise to 70p a way it will cost you £7 a week. Now that is a lot of money to be forking out each week, especially for someone who needs to get the bus to school and back every single day they are there! A LOT!

Now I bet kids nowadays don't know about fares back in the days when our parents were children. When my parents were kids (living in Sheffield) fares were only 2p! Yes you heard me right, only 2p! How cheap is that!? It's amazing how prices back in those days were so much cheaper than they are now, however the world has massively changed through the years so you can probably understand.
What do you think about the rising transport fares? I know I am not happy about the way things are going!

Prince Harry Supports 'HALO'

Prince Harry Prince Harry was born on the 15th of September 1984 and he is the younger son of Charles, Prince of Wales and Diana, Princess of Wales, and fourth grandchild of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. Prince Harry has happily agreed to follow in his mother’s footsteps by supporting a mine clearing charity called HALO. Furthermore Harry has also agreed to be the proud patron for their 25thanniversary.
As said before, Prince Harry is following in his mother’s footsteps. His mother, Princess Diana one day went to Africa and famously walked through a cleared minefield in Angola, Africa and said she felt ‘Alive’ being a supporter of HALO.
A Palace spokesman said: "Prince Harry is delighted to support the charity in its 25th year."

A Huge 6 Metre Catch For A British Man!

Fishing is the activity of trying to catch fish. Techniques for catching fish include hand gathering, spearing, netting, angling and trapping. This story is about one fisherman who caught a monster of a fish and won’t have to worry about supper for a while!

Now here in the UK, when we go fishing we usually end up catching small-medium sized fishes. It wasn’t long ago that a person called Kevin Gardner from Norfolk went out for a normal fishing trip in the Atlantic, however this trip was far from normal…Kevin ended up catching a fish that has been described as a ‘monster fish’ and is the 4th largest fish to be ever caught on a fishing rod! Amazing!

Kevin spent 3 long and tiring hours trying to reel in the monster fish, as a result of this Kevin experienced things like painful back ache from constantly leaning over and he had blisters on his hands from gripping and reeling in the fish . So once he eventually managed to get hold of the fish, you can imagine he was pretty relieved!

It was a huge shock for Kevin when he first got a glimpse of the fish he had caught in the cold Atlantic sea and when he pulled the fish up to the boat he knew that what he had caught was a Marlin. But not any ordinary Marlin… A Marlin that was nearly 6 METRES LONG! That’s huge!

A great success story for Kevin Gardner. It’s not every day a gigantic fish ends up on the end of your fishing line!

A New Surfing Sensation In New Zealand!

Surfing is a water sport in which the wave rider, "surfer" rides on the forward face of a wave, which is most often carrying the surfer towards shore. Now I am sure we all know that only humans take to the waves on their surfboard. Am I right? Well not this time, we are all wrong! Read on…

Not so long ago, a new surfing sensation was discovered in New Zealand, and no it isn’t a man or woman… IT’S A PIG! Yes you heard me right, a pig! This piglet called Zorro has been hogging the waves of New Zealand for a while now as he has been showing off his surfing skills since he was only 3 weeks old, that’s so young!

The words “Phenomenal swimmer” was used to describe the crossbred piglet from Zorro’s owner, Matthew Bell. Matthew also said that he will keep riding with his trusty companion until he is too big for the board and they both are planning to keep searching for the perfect wave to ride on…

This just shows that if a pig can do it, anybody can do it! Don’t be afraid to try something new for a change!

The Queen Pulls Out From A Public Event...

HRH The QueenThe Queen  (Queen Elizabeth II) was due to attend a public event at Westminster Abbey. Her Majesty was due to attend a special event which celebrated Commonwealth Day however the majesty sadly wasn’t able to do so after recovering from a recent illness she had come down with.

It was 10 years ago since the Queen went to hospital but last week she was admitted to the hospital after suffering from the symptoms of Gastroenteritis.

Gastroenteritis is caused by inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract that involves the stomach and the small intestine which can result in a combination of diarrhea, vomiting, abdominal pain and cramping.

Obviously because of this the Queen will not be attending the event, but The Duke Of Edinburgh will be as planned. On the other hand, the Queen is thought to attend a reception on Monday evening.
